    The present invention relates to a disposable device for the absorption of saliva and / or blood in the mouth of patients, in particular under the tongue.
    It is well known to use products that absorb fluid and blood in connection with dental treatment in patients' mouths in order to collect saliva and blood to increase the possibilities for effective tooth and mouth treatment and also make it more comfortable for patients.
    As an example may be mentioned: US 4,8l7,632 A which shows an absorbent material enclosed in a casing. US 5,749,729 A which shows a flat superabsorbent body with a waist for use e.g. above the upper lip during dental treatment for fluid absorption. US 5.07l, 349 A which shows a similar product and its manufacturing process by punching and compressing or rolling the edges. SE 426 020 B which shows absorption bodies shaped as number plates and collected in roll form. US 3,468,030 A which shows a triangular combined protective and absorbent body intended to be placed inside the patient's cheek and which is formed of layers of foil and absorbent material.
    Disadvantages of known products are that the shape of the product after absorption means that it does not always fit the cavities of the oral cavity. In addition, the shape is also not optimal to fit the anatomical design of the oral cavity, especially to the area under the tongue. An important feature of the product is the ability to expand sufficiently without bursting or to change shape to the point that it gets in the way when working in the mouth, especially to be able to effectively collect saliva at the area of the mandible. under the tongue and prevent the saliva from reaching the oral cavity and there must be sucked away. The main object of the present invention is therefore primarily to solve at least a number of the above-mentioned problems in an efficient and safe manner.
    Said object is achieved by means of a device according to the present invention, which is mainly characterized in that the product has a substantially crescent-shaped circumferential shape, that superabsorbent material is enclosed in a double-weight liquid-transporting casing, the folding edge of the casing being located at the edge of said product.
    The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of a disposable product for the absorption of saliva and / or blood in the mouth of patients, in particular under the tongue.
    Said method is mainly characterized in that a plate with slit or recess formed superabsorbent crescent-shaped core material is enclosed by double folding of a liquid-transporting casing after which said casing is welded together along its free edges with an ultrasonic welding machine.
    Finally, the invention relates to means for the manufacture of such disposable products as above. The purpose of this is to find a way that efficiently and cost-saving enables safe production of the products in question rationally.
    Said object is achieved by means of means according to the present invention, which are mainly characterized in that a cylindrically rotatable combined punch and weld, which both punches out intended desired products jointly from a strip-shaped double-weight casing of liquid-transporting material and which welds along punched 10 25 edges of the products are arranged to produce said products in a row.
    The product primarily solves the problem of collecting the strong saliva absorption that takes place under the tongue, where about 75% of the saliva is produced here in order to prevent saliva contamination during, for example, cementation during dentistry.
    Most products on the market cannot be used under the tongue and the few products that can be used there are poorly designed from an ergonomic / anatomical point of view or are designed in such a way that superabsorbent granules come out into the oral cavity during use.
    The product of the present invention more effectively prevents saliva contamination from salivating under the tongue, as it collects saliva directly at the mouth of the salivary glands and thereby prevents it from reaching the oral cavity, unlike suction instruments where saliva first collects in the oral cavity and is then absorbed.
    The invention is described in the following with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which, Fig. 1 shows in perspective obliquely from above an absorbent body according to the invention in unused position, Fig. 2 shows the absorbent body in plan view and in partial section, Fig. 3 shows a side view of the product in question, Fig. 4 shows different embodiments of the product, Fig. 5 shows the product with different embodiments, Fig. 6 shows the product in an active position in a patient's mouth and under the patient's tongue, Figs. 7 and 8 show a variant of the product, Figs. 9-11 show the product in used liquid-absorbed finished position, and Figs. 12-13 show means for manufacturing products according to the invention.
    A device 1 for disposable product 2 intended to enable effective absorption of saliva and / or blood in the mouth 3 of patients 4, especially under the tongue 5 of the patient 4, means i.a. that the product has a substantially crescent-shaped circumferential shape. In addition, the said products are formed of superabsorbent material 6 of known type and which is enclosed in a double-weight liquid-transporting casing 7. The folding edge 8 of the casing is located at the straight edge 9 of the said product.
    The cup-shaped edge 10 of the housing, which is opposite to said straight edge 9, is welded together, preferably by ultrasonic welding, and the cup-shaped edge of the housing has a softly wavy outer edge area 11.
    A number of cross-sections 12 or recesses 13 extend through the superabsorbent material 6. These are formed by slit-shaped cross-sections 12 or by wedge-shaped recesses 13 which extend through the straight edge area 14 of said superabsorbent material, at a mutual distance A from each other. Suitably, paired cross-sections 12 or recesses 13 are located at the straight edge region 14 of the superabsorbent material 6 with their openings 12A, 13A facing away from it and distributed at a mutual distance A from each other.
    The nucleating superabsorbent body, which consists of superabsorbent material 6, has a flat cross-sectional shape in the dry state and thus before the stuffing of the said disposable product 2 in the mouth 3 of the patient 4. 10 15 15 25 25 Important properties and further advantages and areas of use with the product is i.a. these: 0 Disposable product for saliva and blood absorption in the mouth, especially under the tongue.
    - Collects saliva directly at the mouth of the mandible under the tongue and thus prevents the saliva from reaching the oral cavity. 0 Collects saliva and blood corresponding to several times its size. 0 Shapes comfortably according to the anatomy of the oral cavity. 0 Keeps the tongue away due to the elasticity of the absorbent material. 0 Has high collection capacity without requiring more horizontal space in the mouth due to its recesses.
    O Keeps liquid even under pressure. 0 Contains no harmful components. 0 Is soft and comfortable for the patient thanks to - its welded indentation from the outer edges, - its softly daring outer edges and - its folded edge that rests against the tongue root. 0 Keeps the oral cavity clean of saliva during cementation.
    An important feature is the ability to expand sufficiently without blasting or changing the shape so that it gets in the way of the work.
    Thanks to the expansion surfaces, partly around the absorption core and partly indented wedges in the absorption core, the product expands partly inwards itself and partly as far as the outer casing allows. This means that the product does not require more space horizontally in the mouth and is not in the way of the dentist for the 5 - 7 minutes required for the procedure.
    The product's crescent shape is ergonomically adapted to the anatomical design of the oral cavity in the area under the tongue.
    Manufacture of the products 2 takes place by a method in which a plate with slot 12 or recess 13 formed superabsorbent crescent-shaped core material 6 is enclosed by double folding of a liquid-transporting casing 7, after which said casing 7 is welded along its cup-shaped free edges 10 with an ultrasonic skin weld.
    Intended products 2 are cut from a double-folded strip while welding.
    The manufacture thus takes place by means of a superabsorbent crescent-shaped flat and resilient material which is enclosed in a double weight by means of an ultrasonic welding machine welded liquid-transporting material which is slightly larger than the absorbent material and where the weld is retracted from the cut road-shaped double edge.
    The crescent-shaped absorbent material may have several recesses in the mold to improve its adaptation to the shape of the oral cavity during absorption.
    The product has no plastic layer on one side, which other saliva-absorbing products have. The advantage of this is that the product cannot be placed with the wrong side down in the mouth by the dentist. On the other hand, it is not excluded that such a thin layer of plastic could be applied if desired and needed.
    The product can be manufactured in several sizes that are adapted to different sized internal mouth dimensions. The placement of the recesses can also be done in different places in the absorbent body.
    By adapting the crescent shape and making it more or less extended, you can also make products for use in other places in the mouth, such as at the mouth of the parotid gland further back in the mouth. In this way, you can manufacture a product family for total saliva control in the mouth and offer the user a kit in the form of a combination of products with different functions.
    Means for the manufacture of disposable products 2 described above for the absorption of saliva and / or blood in the mouth 3 of patients 4, in particular under the tongue 5, comprise a cylindrical rotatable combined punch and weld 20, which both punches out the desired products intended jointly from a band-shaped double-folded casing 7 of liquid-transporting material and which welds 21 along punched edges 10 of the products 2 and which is arranged to produce said products 2 in a row.     - Produced in a small-scale way via ultrasonic stitching on an ultrasonic welding machine.
    - The production can easily be scaled up or down or placed close to the user.
    - Allows domestic production because production can easily be set up in the country where the product is to be used.
    The products are manufactured with a so-called "Ultrasonic sewing machine" that both cuts and welds each product. The method also allows the products to be manufactured in long strips and thereby allows packaging in a dispenser. The enclosing material is double-folded together with the crescent-shaped absorbent material and inserted under the machine's roller head 20 which both welds and cuts simultaneously.
    Depending on the design of the roller head, you can make the products sit together or come loose by themselves.
    The advantage of the production process is that each machine is relatively cheap to purchase and start-up therefore does not require large investments. The production can then be easily scaled up as needed and the production can also be placed in the country where the product is to be used, which means domestic production.
    The invention is of course not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications are possible, in particular as regards the nature of the various parts, or by the use of equivalent technology, without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
